Pictures on Tats

Hello there,

Well in the last blog I discussed briefly how I got into tattooing and my first tattoo, but what about the others? Well my first tattoo was from a legitament shop and afterwards, I decided that I would take a break for at least a year so I don’t go overboard. Well… that didn’t work out (which I knew it would not have). The second tattoo all started when I moved up to Colorado State University and met this lady on my floor. Her boyfriend, a 23 year old who did not attend CSU said he did tattoos as a side job. . . you know, just for fun.

Lets pause, here is a picture of my first tattoo done

One night, we were all hanging out in the residence hall, Parmelee, and he had brought his equipment over. I had this brilliantly spontaneous idea that I was getting a tattoo with one of my friends. I could not tell you why but in my crazy brain it seemed like a good idea at the time. So I started frantically drawing designs of the word FIJI (which is the nickname of my fraternity). Little tangent about the meaning behind this tattoo, during my second semester of my freshman year, a fraternity came to campus to expaned and start a new chapter at Colorado State University. Me and seven other guys decided to join and collectively decided we wanted to create a fraternity of brothers that would change the negative image of a typical “frat” portrayed in the media.

After drawing some designs I gave it to an art major to edit and touch up while I went to walmart. Upon my return the art major had finished editing the tattoo and I was ready to get tatted. Upon entering my room, Sean, the 23 year old tattooer started plugging his equipment into my wall. There were people coming in and out watching this painful process as he drilled and dug ink deep into my skin. After I was finished, he tattooed my friend while I simultaneously pierced my other friends ear. Here is some pictures of that process. . . enjoy!

Let the tattooing begin

I am beginning this post having nothing to do with piercings or tattoos. It boggles my mind how much spam has taken over the internet. Myspace started out as a good idea and now has becoming an advertising friendsy. Just now I was checking all my spam comments and recieved a copius amount of advertisements ranging from viagrato car insurance. I am almost 21 years old and people are asking me to buy viagra and car insurance?!?! No thanks.

Sorry about my tangent, back to business

Lets switch it up and introduce my passion with tattoos and the culture behind it. I knew at an early age, with my ecclectic personality, that I was definately getting a tattoo. Also, since I am not a very big or mature looking guy, I thought a tattoo would make me mildly more intimidating. Having such a random personality though I do not go all out and tattoo my whole body (even though they are highly addicting). I have 4 now but they are all relatively small and somewhat concealed.

My first tattoo was a week after my 18th birthday. I designed the tattoo when I was 16 while I was on a trip in Spain. The tattoo is in the shape of two tribal wings with a circle in the middle. The circle symbolizes the time in life and when it branches off into the wings it represents how life can throw some crazy turns and to just go with the flow and fly with it. Also, it has 18 spikes representing the age of independence and getting it on my 18th birthday. Last, it fades from black to red which on a personal level is the same colors as my car. My car is black with red lighting ALL over the interior, the reason this is significant is because my car represents freedom. Having my car puts me at ease giving me the mindset that if I get too stressed I can pick up and go or just take a drive.
